Class Schedule

If you have ever unrolled your mat in a heated room, you have felt the unique mix of intensity and calm that defines hot yoga. Since arriving in North America in the 1970s, the practice has evolved from the structured original hot yoga (Bikram style) into the modern hot yoga we know today.

At Healthletica, we honour where hot yoga began while embracing how it has grown. Our modern hot yoga classes keep the best parts of the original – the heat, the focus, the cleansing sweat – but bring a fresh, balanced, and mindful approach to movement.

The Roots: Original Hot Yoga (Bikram Style)

The Original Hot Yoga, also known as Bikram Yoga, was developed in the 1970s and follows a precise, unchanging sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Each 90-minute class is practiced in a heated room (around 40°C) with controlled humidity. The class promotes flexibility, circulation, and detoxification.

This style is known for its structure, discipline, and repetition. Every class mirrors the last, allowing students to measure progress and promote mental endurance. The sequence systematically targets every muscle, joint, and organ in the body, while the heat enhances focus and inner stillness.

It is a powerful, meditative experience that shaped the way modern hot yoga is practiced around the world today.

The Evolution: Modern Hot Yoga at Healthletica

While Bikram helped popularize hot yoga, the practice has evolved—and at Healthletica, we’ve embraced that evolution with open arms. Our heated classes are set to a more comfortable range of 32–35°C, offering warmth without overwhelm. And unlike the rigid intensity of Bikram, our approach is diverse, adaptable, and welcoming to all levels.

Modern hot yoga at Healthletica is:

  • Dynamic and diverse – No two classes are the same. Expect creative flows with every class you attend.
  • Accessible and time-friendly – All classes are 60 minutes, making it easier to fit yoga into your day.
  • Music-driven and mindful – Thoughtfully curated playlists and instructor-led sequences enhance rhythm, energy, and focus.
  • Supportive and adaptive – Our instructors offer modifications and options so you can move in a way that feels right for your body.
  • Holistic and balanced – The gentle heat supports flexibility and detoxification, while the flow nourishes both body and mind.

Why Healthletica Chooses Modern Hot Yoga

At Healthletica, we celebrate yoga as a living, evolving practice that adapts to the needs of modern life. Our modern hot yoga classes preserve the grounding roots of Bikram Yoga, while inviting more flexibility, creativity, and connection into each session.

The result? A practice that is empowering yet accessible, challenging yet mindful, and designed to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you are seeking a deep sweat, mental clarity, or simply time to reconnect with yourself, our heated classes offer a space to grow, breathe, and reset.

So, while we honour the legacy of Bikram’s Original Hot Yoga, we’re proud to offer a modern version that feels right for today — authentic, inclusive, and transformative.
